How it works

Observe. Analyze. Enforce. Protect.

What happens when someone visits a site Watchtower protects, in plain words. We leave out the details that would help an attacker.

For websites Live

From request to decision, at the edge.

Each step happens before your site is involved. A request that fails a check never reaches it.

  1. A request arrives

Someone, or something, asks your site for a page, a file or a login.

  2. Watchtower looks first

Before your site sees anything, Watchtower checks where the request comes from, what it asks for and how it behaves.

  3. It checks the record

Has this visitor probed any site Watchtower protects? A bad record anywhere counts everywhere.

  4. It decides

What belongs goes straight through. What doesn't is refused at the edge, and anything asking too much, too fast is told to slow down.

  5. It remembers

Probing for weaknesses earns a block on every protected site. Repeat offenders are blocked for longer, and the worst stay blocked.

  6. You see it

Every decision lands in your console, with where it came from and why. Let anyone back in with one click.

Your rules, your call

You decide what belongs.

Each site has its own rules, set in the console. Watchtower applies them to every request and keeps a record of every decision.

  • Choose who can reach you

Allow the regions you serve and refuse the rest. Regions with a record of hostile traffic stay refused.

  • Emergency lockdown

If a site comes under attack, lock it down from the console in one step, and lift it just as fast.

  • Changes you can undo

Every rule change is recorded with who made it and why, and can be rolled back.

  • Told, not buried

Important events, including trouble with Watchtower itself, reach you by email. Everything else waits in the console.

Beyond websites

The same eyes, further in.

Watchtower is growing from the front door inward. These parts are not available yet, and each is marked with where it stands.

In development

PCs: Endpoint Watch

Runs on your PCs and alerts you to the changes attackers rely on: a new antivirus exclusion, a program that quietly sets itself to start automatically, software installed straight from a web link, and unusual outbound connections.

In development

Network shares

Watches the shared folders on your network storage from both sides, from the PCs that use them and from the storage itself, so a change stands out wherever it starts.

Coming

Servers

Server watch is designed and comes next, with its own place in the console.

Designed

All in one console

Websites, PCs, servers and shares, side by side in the same console, so one look tells you what is happening everywhere Watchtower stands.
